Among the staffs of 1229 of SWEPDI, 1032 are professionals, taking up the 83.97 % of the faculty members. There are 377 professionals with senior professional titles, (43 full professors or senior engineers), 329 with intermediate professional titles, and 276 with elementary professional titles.
SWEPDI is blessed with one designer with the title of master. Among 127 registered or certificated professionals, there are 4 first-grade architects, 9 second-grade architects, 4 registered structure engineers, 23 registered evaluators, 43 registered project surveyors. In addition, SWEPDI has 19 surveying engineers, 71 project consultants of provincial level, and 190 surveying engineers in the field of electricity.

As a knowledge- intensive specialized enterprise, SWEPDI has a very strong team of experts and professionals in all fields concerning electric power industry. Well equipped with advanced devises, instruments and equipments for projects, SWEPDI possesses qualification certificates for the design, exploration and survey of large-sized and high-quality electric power plants in China, for the evaluation of the first-rate power plant environment, for the projects of pollution control and treatment, for the engineering procurement construction of influential and key projects, for the consultation of the large-scale electric power projects, for the consultation of the cost of huge projects,and for the supervision of the first-class projects and the design of high pressure vessels used in power plants. In 1995, SWEPDI became China's first in the field of the electric power exploration, survey and design, to be recognized with certification to live up to GB/T19001-1994 idt ISO9001: 1994 and passed check-inspections and evaluations that followed, and it is holding the quality qualification certificate of GB/T19001-2000 idt ISO9001: 2000. As a result SWEPDI has been given the permission license by the Foreign Trade Ministry to undertake overseas businesses and projects.

Equipment Resources

SWEPDI is well equipped with advanced equipment necessary for design, exploration and surveying. It has 3500 sets of specialized equipment, devices and instruments. It also has 3000 units of multi-purpose equipment for design, exploration, surveying, and scientific researches concerned. SWEPDI has advanced computer-assisted design system (CAD), managing information system (MIS), Intergraph three-dimension designing system, GBS locating system, all-round digital photo measuring system, full automatic soil-operating experimental analysis system, geographic radar system, high-speed scanner and printer of blue prints, devices and instruments for environment testing, geographical engineering, the printing machines of blue prints and the like.
